To thoroughly implement the PIONEER PROGRAM requirements regarding research education excellence and enhance graduate students' employment competitiveness, the College of Marine and Environmental Sciences held the first session of the 14th BOHAI WIND Academic Culture Season: Qiming New Star Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sharing Conference along with the 36th Research Sea Forum at 10:30 AM on April 21 in Classroom 3-121, Middle Binhai Campus.
The event featured Ms. Cao Xinyi, a graduate student majoring in Environmental Engineering, who delivered a lecture titled Advanced Guide to Securing Dream Offers Through Strategic Job Applications. The session was attended by selected graduate students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts.
Ms. Cao systematically shared her job-hunting experiences through three key aspects: information retrieval, career goal selection, and application-to-interview strategies. Regarding job search channels, she recommended utilizing online recruitment platforms, corporate websites, and campus career fairs, while emphasizing the importance of information organization for efficient screening. When establishing career objectives, she advised comprehensive consideration of industry trends, personal positioning, and corporate preferences, suggesting flexible short-term and long-term planning to adapt to market changes. For interview preparation, she provided practical tips including resume optimization, written test techniques, and strategies for handling common interview questions.
This successful event effectively enhanced participants' practical skills in job applications through firsthand experience sharing from outstanding alumni. The college will continue to advance career guidance services, integrate high-quality resources, and support students' professional development. Guided by the university's PIONEER PROGRAM, the college will leverage the BOHAI WIND Academic Culture Season platform to play a leading role in graduate career development and promote high-quality employment outcomes.
