Doing Practical Things, Warming Teachers' Hearts, and Promoting Development

The Faculty Party Branch of the Administrative Office, College of Marine and Environmental Sciences, organized a Theme Party Day Activity with the theme of "Doing Practical Things, Warming Teachers' Hearts, and Promoting Development".

To thoroughly implement the requirements of the university’s “Pioneer Plan” and the deployment of the “3510” Strategic Initiative, focus on faculty development needs, use policy briefings as a key tool to address the challenges and bottlenecks faculty members face in their work, and effectively inspire faculty Party members to take on greater responsibility in promoting the high-quality, substantive development of the university, the Faculty and Staff Party Branch of the School of Oceanography and Environmental Sciences organized a Party Day activity themed “Delivering Practical Services, Warming Faculty Hearts, and Promoting Development” on April 2.

The Faculty Party Branch of the School Office has fully leveraged the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members, focusing on resolving the urgent, difficult, and pressing concerns of faculty members to foster a cohesive force for the school’s development. Activities centered on policy briefings covering undergraduate teaching operations, research organization and support, discipline development, graduate education, faculty development, and daily administrative management. Comrade Wang Hongyu, Party Branch Secretary and Academic Secretary, provided a systematic explanation of daily teaching management and the recognition of teaching achievements, helping young faculty members clarify their workflows; Comrade Wang Yunhua, Research Secretary, focused on interpreting project applications, procedures for processing funding disbursements, and contract approval, offering strong support for young faculty members to scientifically plan and reasonably arrange their work; Comrade Ma Yulan, Graduate Secretary, delivered a special presentation on hot topics such as the selection of advisors, graduate student training, and graduation defense; Administrative Secretary Comrade Wang Qin provided an interpretation of talent recruitment and cultivation policies as well as the evaluation and appointment of professional technical positions, reminding young faculty members to develop personal career plans in advance and focus on accumulating high-quality achievements; Comrade Zhang Yuenan, Director of the Party Committee (Administrative) Office, explained daily administrative matters such as attendance management, reimbursement procedures, and regulations for the use of official seals.

This event allowed young faculty members to deeply feel the organization’s care and support, and further clarified their career paths. The participating faculty members unanimously expressed their commitment to fulfilling their job responsibilities, developing well-thought-out personal development plans, quickly adapting to work requirements, continuously enhancing their professional capabilities, and earnestly carrying out the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education.

Under the strong leadership of the School’s Party Committee, the Faculty Party Branch of the School Office has consistently upheld the principle of “service first.” It has continuously organized diverse and meaningful activities to serve both faculty and students, fully leveraging the vanguard and exemplary roles of Party members and cadres in teaching, research, discipline development, and fostering unity among the academic community. By focusing on the core tasks of the university and the school and strengthening the guiding role of Party building, the branch has ensured a strong start for the School’s 15th Five-Year Plan.
