[International Exchange] Experts from Ghent University, Belgium, Visit Tianjin University of Science and Technology
To further implement the “International Communication” initiative under the “Vanguard Plan” and enhance the quality of international talent cultivation, Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST) invited Mr. Zhang Chi, Chief Representative of Ghent University’s Beijing Office, and Associate Professor Annelies Declercq, Director of the Aquaculture and Artemia Reference Center at Ghent University, for an exchange visit on November 11. Representatives from TUST’s Office of International Cooperation and the College of Marine and Environmental Science, along with faculty members, engaged in in-depth discussions with the Ghent delegation on talent development and scientific collaboration.
The Ghent experts delivered academic lectures at the Second Academic Hall of the Binhai Midtown Campus, attracting over 150 faculty and students from the College of Marine and Environmental Science. Mr. Zhang Chi provided an overview of Ghent University’s educational strengths and international student programs, while Professor Declercq introduced the Artemia Reference Center’s team structure, research focus, and global graduate training initiatives. Attendees actively participated in Q&A sessions, fostering vibrant academic dialogue. The delegation also visited TUST’s Asian Regional Artemia Reference Center.
