Teachers and students of our school participated in the Salt Science Development Summit Forum and the 14th International Salt Lake Online Co

Recently, the Salt Science Development Summit Forum and the 14th International Salt Lake Conference (Beijing Branch) were successfully held. The conference was hosted by the Institute of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and the China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and our school co-hosted the conference as a co-organizer. Professor Deng Tianlong, Director of the Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Chemistry and Food Technology of the Ministry of Education, Member of the Standing Committee of the International Salt Lake Society, and Dean of the School of Oceanography and Environment, and Professor Donna, Director of the Science and Technology Division, led a group of 22 teachers and students from the School of Chemical Engineering and Materials and the School of Oceanography and Environment to

Entrusted by the organizing committee of the conference, Deng Tianlong presided over the conference report and was invited to give a report entitled "Key Technologies and Prospects for Lithium Extraction from Salt Lakes and Underground Brine Resources", and Donna gave a report entitled "Status and Development of China's Salt Industry". The conference proposed to establish a "large salt" scientific project, expand salinity research to salt lake geology, salt lake chemistry, salt lake engineering, salt lake biology, salt lake environment and planetary salt science, and establish an international comprehensive salt science research society in China to build a stable exchange and cooperation platform to better develop salinity. It is reported that the "Salt Lake Professional Committee of the Geological Society of China" has been officially approved for establishment. Academician Zheng Mianping is the honorary director, researcher Zhang Yongsheng of the Institute of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences is the director, and professor Deng Tianlong of our school is the deputy director.

At the 14th International Salt Lake Conference, four graduate students, Professor Deng Tianlong, Professor Zhou Huan, Professor Sui Liying, Associate Researcher Zhao Xiaoyu, Dr. Dewey, Zhao Kaiyu, Yuan Fei, Sun Kangrui, and Wang Zihao, respectively combined their own research directions and made wonderful academic reports on the related fields of comprehensive utilization of salt lake resources. They also exhibited four scientific research achievements in the form of posters, which attracted extensive attention from scholars at home and abroad and won unanimous praise from experts attending the conference.

It is reported that the Salt Science Development Summit Forum was led by Zheng Mianping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chairperson of the International Salt Lake Society.

The International Society for Salt Lake Research (ISSLR) is an international, non-governmental, non-profit academic organization founded in 1979 with the aim of establishing effective contacts among interdisciplinary researchers of inland salt lakes and salt fields around the world, promoting the research, management, utilization and protection of salt lakes; and educating the public on the scientific utilization, effective management and protection of salt lake resources. The International Salt Lake Conference is a series of professional conferences on salt lakes organized by the International Salt Lake Society. It is the highest level professional research and academic exchange conference on salt lake research. It is held every three years. The 14th International Salt Lake Conference (ICSLR2021) is held in Murcia, Spain.
