Practice Group of the College of Marine and Environmental Sciences Went to Yifang Jiayuan Community to Carry Out the Practical Activity "Children's Hearts Paint for SCO · Joining Hands for the Future"

To welcome and celebrate the holding of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, and to guide teenagers to understand international cooperation and experience diverse cultures, on August 17th, the "Looking Back on the Past · Marching Toward a New Journey" Practice Group of the College of Marine and Environmental Sciences, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, went to Yifang Jiayuan Community in Binhai New Area, Tianjin, to carry out the practical activity themed "Children's Hearts Paint for SCO · Joining Hands for the Future". With the concept of "understanding the SCO, perceiving cultures, and participating in the Summit", the activity brought a vivid and practical popular science class to teenagers.

During the activity, members of the practice group introduced to the attending teenagers the basic information of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the composition of its major member states, and the holding of the first SCO Summit. At the same time, they informed everyone that this year's SCO Summit will be held in Tianjin, where leaders of more than 20 countries and heads of 10 international organizations will gather on the banks of the Haihe River. This will also be the largest-scale summit since the establishment of the SCO.

Every country has its unique "cultural business card". Through the "National Flag Matching" game, the activity helped teenagers recognize the characteristics of the SCO member states. By learning about these cultures, everyone gained a better understanding of the cooperative foundation of mutual respect and appreciation for differences among SCO member states.

Members of the practice group cleverly designed the "Tianjin One-Day Tour" introduction card design activity, encouraging teenagers to let their imaginations run wild. The teenagers recommended scenic spots such as the Five Great Avenues (Xiaoyanglou Buildings) and the Ancient Culture Street on the cards, introduced Tianjin's characteristic cuisines, and told Tianjin's historical stories to show the charm of their hometown to foreign children.

The SCO upholds the "Shanghai Spirit" and contributes to regional peace and development. This year's Tianjin Summit is an opportunity to practice the concept of open cooperation and mutual benefit and win-win results, and all parties will further build consensus and deepen all-round cooperation.

In the future, guided by the concept of "fostering virtue through education", the "Looking Back on the Past · Marching Toward a New Journey" Practice Group will continue to innovate the forms of youth education. Through more interactive activities that combine education with fun, it will help patriotism and international perspective take root in children's hearts, build a bridge of friendship for teenagers, and cultivate young envoys of the new era for promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
