The municipal Experimental Teaching Center of Marine Environmental Protection & Technology serves 5 undergraduate majors of Marine science, Marine technology, Marine resource exploitation technology, environmental science and environmental engineering. At present, the center has established standardized management with two-level management of university and college, ant the director is responsible for the daily routines. The center is running underthe platform operation mode of resource sharing with responsibility and authority. The center has built a three-level experimental practice teaching platform of "basic, professional and research". The basic platform includes Tianjin Marine Environmental Protection and Restoration Technology Engineering Center and Tianjin Water Transport Engineering Surveying and Mapping Technology Enterprise Key Laboratory (co-built).Professional laboratories include Marine Science Experiment Center, Marine Technology Laboratory, Environmental Science Experiment Center, Environmental Engineering Experiment Center and Marine and Environmental Virtual Simulation Laboratory. The research labs include "Estuarine-Coastal Zone Environment and Ecology", " Utilization and Protectionfor Coastal Groundwater", "Environmental Functional Materials", "Marine Environment Simulation and Assessment", "Marine Remote Sensing and Information Technology", "Marine Chemistry and Separation Technology", "Biological Oceanography", "Marine Micro-biological Resources Utilization" and other research labs and the Halogenium Reference Centerof Asian.

The center has 28 full-time staffs, including 9 professors, 5 associate professors and 3 senior engineers (experimentalists). The proportion of teachers with a doctoral degree was 35.7%, and the proportion of teachers with a graduate degree or above was 78.6%. The center has 2 members of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education; 1 member of high-level talents Program, 2 members of New century talents of the Ministry of Education, 1 member of "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 3 special professors (lectures) of Tianjin, 1 Famous teaching teacher of Tianjin, 2 members of first-level talents of Tianjin "131", 3 members of Subjects Leading Talents Training Program of Tianjin universities; 3 members of Tianjin university "Young and middle-aged backbone innovative talent training Program", 2 members of Haihe scholars program, 1member of Haihe scholars training program. There are 1 winner of the 11th Tianjin Youth Science and Technology Award, 1 Excellent Teacher of Tianjin, 1 winner of Tianjin May 1st Labor Medal, 2 famous teachers of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, and 3 members of Special Commissioners of Tianjin Science and Technology.

The center offers experimental teaching courses for 5 majors of the College of Marine and Environment, and provides experimental sites for undergraduate graduation design (thesis), students' scientific and technological innovation activities, and students' participation in various competitions such as "Challenge Cup". The center is also a base for postgraduate training, faculty research and external service.

Haiming Li, male, Doctor, professor, doctoral supervisor.Selected as a member of Tianjin University discipline leading talent training program, Tianjin "131" innovative talent training project.His main research interests are the migration and transformation of groundwater pollutants in the interoceanic zone;mechanism and remediation techniques of coastal groundwater pollution; salinization ofcoastal reservoir; carbon sinks in natural ecosystems.He is Standing Member of Water Resources Committee, China Society of Natural Resources; Member of the Special Committee on Groundwater Science and Engineering, Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society; Member of the Professional Committee of Hydrogeochemistry, Mineralogical, Petrogeochemical Society of China; Member of Marine Environmental Protection Committee, Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences; Member of the Professional Committee of Water Treatment and Reuse, Chinese Environmental Society. He serves as editorial committeefor "South-to-north Water Diversion and Water Science and Technology", "Hydrogeology Engineering Geology", "People's Pearl River", "Journal of Tianjin University of Science and Technology" and other periodicals.He has presided over more than 60 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation, the national "Water Special Project", the key projects of Tianjin Natural Science Foundation, the "Groundwater Protection Action" project of the Ministry of Water Resources, the central water resources fee project, and the cooperation projects between Tianjin Education Commission and enterprises.He has published more than 100 research papers and participated in the compilation of 2 monographs. He won the second prize of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Land and Resources and the second prize of excellent scientific research achievements of Shandong universities.
