Tianjin Key Laboratory of Marine Resources and Chemistry is a provincial and ministerial level key laboratory established by Tianjin Science and Technology Commission and Tianjin Education Commission in October 2007 and supported by Tianjin University of Science and Technology. The main purpose of the laboratory is to study and develop the basic theories and applied technologies of chemistry and biology related to Marine resources based on Marine resources, closely combine with the development frontier of Marine disciplines in the world, and study green chemical technologies for sustainable development and efficient utilization of Marine resources according to the characteristics of Marine resources and their utilization in our country. To form a research and development base for Marine chemical resources and Marine biological resources. According to the operation requirements of "opening, flowing, joint and competition", the 2024 Open Fund project application Guide is released for domestic and foreign colleagues.

Research fields include risk assessment and remediation of groundwater and soil pollution in contaminated sites, groundwater environmental impact assessment, groundwater resource utilization and pollution control, groundwater system simulation and prediction, and groundwater resource evaluation and management.
Liang Zhao, Deputy director of the laboratory, Doctor, professor, doctoral supervisor. Candidate of "Discipline Leading Talents Training Plan" of Tianjin Universities and "New Century Outstanding Talents Support Plan" of Ministry of Education. He is engaged in the research of shallow ocean dynamics and ecosystem dynamics. His main research interests include the fine observation of shallow ocean bottom boundary layer dynamic process, the change law and control mechanism of low trophic ecosystem and catastrophic ecological process under the dual pressure of natural changes and human activities, and the study of Marine dynamics and ecological models.
