Team Introduction:Our team is dedicated to the investigation and evaluation of estuarine, coastal, and nearshore ecosystems, with a focus on marine ecological protection, the restoration of degraded environments, and the development of sustainable ecosystems. The major research areas include the identification and characterization of pollution sources and pollutants in estuaries, coastal zones, and nearshore areas, as well as the transport and transformation mechanisms of these pollutants, and their impacts on seawater chemical composition and ecological quality. Additionally, we focus on environmental toxicology, biodiversity conservation, and ecological restoration technologies. Additionally, we arealso engaged in the development of technologies for the reduction, detoxification, and resource recovery of offshore oilfield pollutants.Through integrated field observations of physical and biochemical environments, coupled with ecological process studies, we aim to systematically comprehend the evolutionary dynamics of the ecological environment in the Bohai Bay estuaries and nearshore waters. This knowledge is leveraged to conduct comprehensive assessments of estuarine and coastal ecological environments, support marine resource development with ecological impact analyses, and advance the principles and technologies of estuarine, coastal wetland, and marine ecosystem restoration. The team has successfully undertaken over 100 national research projects, including sub-projects within the National 863 and 973 Programs and the National Water Pollution Control and Treatment Science and Technology Major Project. We have also led projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the Tianjin Natural Science Foundation, and other major initiatives. To date, we have published more than 60 papers in SCI/EI-indexed journals, hold one international invention patent and 11 national invention patents, and have authored three monographs. The team’s achievements have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress in Tianjin, the Third Prize for Science and Technology Progress from the China Ports Association, a National Teaching Achievement Award, and five provincial and ministerial-level teaching achievement awards.
