In alignment with China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and with the aim of deepening international scientific and technological innovation cooperation in the field of salt lakes and the salt industry, as well as promoting sustainable resource utilization and high-quality industrial development, The 1st Belt and Road International Conference on Salt Lake and Salt Industry Innovation and Technology & The 6th China Partners Academic Forum of Ghent University, will be jointly organized by the International Society for Salt Lake Research, Tianjin University of Science and Technology and Ghent University. The event is scheduled to take place at Tianjin University of Science and Technology from November 15 to 16, 2025.
Under the theme “Innovation Empowers Development·Green Wins the Future”, this conference aims to establish a high-level platform for academic exchange and technological collaboration. It will bring together global expertise to explore cutting-edge advancements and future trends in key areas including salt lake resource exploration, green development, efficient utilization, ecological protection, and technological innovation in the salt industry. Building on the fine tradition of the Ghent University China Partners Academic Forum, the conference will further strengthen academic exchange and research cooperation between China and Europe in the field of salt lake science and technology.

Conference Format
The conference be held in a hybrid format (combining online and on-site participation). It will feature plenary presentations, keynote presentations, and a young scientist forum. Distinguished experts and scholars from universities, research institutions, and relevant enterprises worldwide specializing in salt lake and salt resources, ecological and environmental protection are invited to share innovative scientific and technological achievements and promote disciplinary advancement.
